The story behind Puppy Pathways
They say never work with children or animals—but I’ve been lucky to spend my career with both. My love of dogs began with my first best friend, Ziggy the Weinerama, and has grown ever since.
I spent most of my professional carer supporting young people in a Bristol school, but after maternity leave I wanted to combine my two passions (supporting young people and dog!) and loved the idea of animal-assisted therapy. I had lots of experience working with young people but none training dogs! So In 2017 I began my journey into dog training, shadowing trainers before joining Puppy School. Drawn to their positive, reward-based ethos, I became an Associate Tutor in 2019 and this year stepped up as a full Tutor while working toward my Animal Training Instructor qualification.
Over the years I’ve owned many breeds, each teaching me the value of compassionate, effective training. Today, alongside running Puppy School, I’m a mum of three, a dog and cockatiel owner, and a full-time Occupational Therapy student—working toward my goal of helping people and dogs thrive together.
